Career Start (formerly Certificate 3 Guarantee)

SUBSIDISED TRAINING

Queensland Government subsidised training (eligibility applies)

The Queensland Government invests in training to help Queenslanders develop skills aligned to workforce needs and priority industries. Funding is delivered through approved training providers (Skills Assure Suppliers) and is subject to program rules, eligibility requirements and availability.

About the program
Career Start replaces funding previously available through the Certificate 3 Guarantee for new students. It may support eligible individuals to complete a first post-school Certificate III qualification (or other approved outcomes under the program rules).

Before you enrol (important information)
To help you make an informed decision, CTIA will confirm in writing before enrolment:

  • your eligibility and any evidence required
  • the training product (code/title), delivery mode, location(s) and expected duration
  • fees and charges, including any co-contribution and any potential additional costs
  • entry requirements and suitability (including LLN and digital requirements)
  • assessment requirements, support available, and key policies (withdrawals/refunds; complaints/appeals)

Vocational placement (if required)
Where vocational placement is a requirement of the training product, CTIA will provide guidance and support and (where possible) assist with placement arrangements. Placement availability depends on host employer capacity and meeting any required conditions. Placement expectations will be explained before enrolment.

Employment outcomes
Training may improve employment opportunities; however, employment outcomes are not guaranteed and depend on individual circumstances and employer requirements.

One subsidised course (general pathway)
Eligible participants can generally access one subsidised course under the program. Please review the course information below to ensure it meets your goals before applying.

Continuing students (legacy programs)
If you commenced training under a previous funded program (e.g., Certificate 3 Guarantee), arrangements support continuing students to complete without disadvantage

Please read the course information below so you can make an informed decision.
